Why choose to work with a wedding florist?

So much goes into preparing your wedding florals. So you can enjoy the build up to your wedding day, here’s why I think it’s best to hire a wedding florist over DIY (I know I may be a little biased).

The design phase

We know what colours work together, and what colours don’t.

We know which flowers can be sourced in what colour and which flowers can be sourced at different times of year. We will know not to be chasing around suppliers for peonies in September, because you’re not going to get any nice ones, if any.

We will be able to source a better quality product as we will have done the research over the years, building our experience.

We will know flowers you’ve probably never heard of, or considered using, in your wedding flowers. We know those flowers that give that extra impact, and we know what is worth spending a little more on - like the perfect shade of a blush pink frilly garden rose. We know where to source those flowers and foliage to add that whimsical feel or add that amazing scent (or avoid those that don’t smell great).

The wedding week

Some couples may choose to do their wedding florals themselves to help save money, but it is a big undertaking. There are many stages to creating wedding flowers, even if you have a team of bridesmaids and family members ready and raring to help out, it will be a big job.

Prior to the wedding week, we will be sourcing sundries such as vessels, ribbons and candles.

The week of wedding will consist of doing the multiple flower orders, different suppliers specialise in different things. Then taking the delivery and conditioning the flowers (removing leaves and hydrating) can take a few days depending on the event. Preparation will be done offsite a few days before to create items such as bud vases, flower meadows, bouquets and buttonholes.

The morning of the wedding, when you want to be chilled, we will be onsite early to create any large installations (think flower arches and chandeliers), set out ceremony and reception flowers, and deliver all the personal flowers to the bridal party.

Unmatched experience

Ultimately, you won’t be able to match our professional experience.

They have knowledge of venues and, if we haven’t worked there before, will know what questions to ask to make sure your florals are delivered perfectly. Having delivered wedding flowers for many other weddings, they will know how to solve problems that come up on the day before they even happen, that are the types of problems you just won’t want to be worrying about on the morning of your wedding.

They also have a lot more time to deliver the flowers compared to you, as that is what your florist is solely concentrating on.

You will have to do a lot of research to achieve the same level with minimal stress, so if you want your wedding flowers to be an enjoyable part of your day – it’s very worth reaching out to some wedding florists who, in my opinion, they are all lovely.
